SOLE OTERO (1985, BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA) IS A COMIC ARTIST, CHILDREN ILLUSTRATOR AND TEXTILE DESIGNER.

Sole got her degree in textile design at the University of Buenos Aires, graduating in 2010. 

As a comic artist and children ilustration she formed herself by assiting to short seminaries in Buenos Aires and was self-taught. During the first perios of her career her work as an illustrator for children has led to her being published internationally. As a comic artist she made several web comics, and in 2015 published her first book "La pelusa de los días" in Spain.

She was part of the Latin American collective Historietas Reales and of the international collective Chicks on Comics.

In the past she has taught illustration, digital illustration, embroidery, knitting, narrative with color, comic and comic strip. She currently runs an online course on colour through Domestika.

In 2019, she won the Fnac-Salamandra prize for her graphic novel project "Naftalina", which was published in 2020 through Random House. In 2023 the same book was awarded during the Angoulême festival with the Prix du public France TV.

Ever active, Sole is working concurrently on many projects; ranging from graphic novels, online courses, comics for children and illustrations for books.
