SOLE OTERO (1985, BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA) IS A COMIC ARTIST, CHILDREN ILLUSTRATOR AND TEXTILE DESIGNER.

Sole Otero earned her degree in textile design from the University of Buenos Aires. As a comic artist and children's illustrator, she refined her craft through various specialized seminars. In 2015, she published her first book, La pelusa de los días, in Spain.
 
She has been an active member of the Latin American collective Historietas Reales and the international collective Chicks on Comics, and is a founding member of the collective Línea Peluda. Her teaching experience includes illustration, embroidery, knitting, color, and comics; she currently leads an online color workshop on the Domestika platform.
 
In 2019, she was awarded the Fnac-Salamandra prize for her graphic novel project Mothballs (Naftalina), published in 2020 by Random House. In 2023, the book received the Prix du Public France TV at the Angoulême Festival, and in 2025 it was nominated for both the Eisner and Harvey Awards in the Best International Comic Book category after being published in the United States by Fantagraphics.
Her book Walicho was awarded in 2024 with the Prix Prima Bula.
 
Sole has completed residencies at La Maison des Auteurs in Angoulême, Casa Tres Patios in Medellín, and LCB in Berlin. She has also appeared as a guest at numerous festivals throughout Europe and South America. She is currently working on new graphic novels, children's comics, newspaper illustrations, and comic strips.
